Route highlights

This route follows the published itinerary in order. It combines mountain and valley travel with a Merzouga desert-camp night, then continues to the final destination shown above. Each stop is included here because it helps travelers understand the route's pacing rather than because it promises a fixed timetable.

  • Ifrane, cedar forest, nomadic territories, and Ziz Valley
  • Merzouga desert-camp evening
  • Guided Todra Gorges visit
  • Guided Ait Benhaddou visit and High Atlas return

Day-by-day itinerary

Depart from Fez and travel through Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco. Continue to the cedar forest for photographs with the wild macaque monkeys in the area, then travel through nomadic territories toward the Ziz Valley. Stop for lunch in the Ziz Valley and continue through the valley to Merzouga. On arrival, hand the luggage to the 4x4 team for transfer to the campsite. Continue by camel toward the camp, with time to enjoy sunset and sandboarding over the dunes. Proceed to the camp for dinner, followed by a musical soirée and optional time for stargazing.
